The first half of the LSU online MSW is known as the "generalist year” and covers key concepts and theories within the field. This year also offers an internship component where students can gain real-world experience. The second half, known as the “specialized year,” includes courses in theory and treatment. 

This degree is ideal for students who seek to tackle sensitive social issues and help people improve their lives. The MSW program covers fundamental issues in social work theory, including topics like child welfare, diversity and oppression, and substance abuse treatment.

Will my degree say I earned it online? 

No, graduates receive the same diploma as on-campus peers.

Will I pay out-of-state tuition if I am outside of Louisiana? 

There are no out-of-state fees. Fully online programs offer the same flat-rate tuition no matter where you live.
